Our Story

In 2012, one man started with a dream and a van, working for various major parcel delivery companies delivering to nearly every postcode in and around the West Midlands, North and West Wales, and Shropshire. I always had a passion for delivering parcels and customer service, I enjoy meeting new people and always made sure they receive the best customer service experience possible.

The same year I met my partner Donna, who after completing her degree, started work in one of the major parcel delivery industry and became a Quality Manager.

Both Donna and I loved what we did and shared the same passion for customer service. Before 2012 would come to a close, two of us fell in love and three short years later we were blessed with the birth of our daughter, Seva.

Fast forward a decade and the little business idea hatched by us grew from one van in 2012 to over 40 vans in 2019 providing service to various major companies. The same year Donna left her job and we started working as a team full time , doing what we have always loved while training our team to provide the same phenomenal service with the same unrelenting passion as the two of us. Donna has been an ultimate source of inspiration, and her commitment to not giving up on our customers has ensured that we thrived.

As the home delivery of the food and beverage industry grew during the pandemic, its challenges grew also. Transporting perishable items over that last mile may sound simple, but for many food delivery companies, it was anything but.

The internet has made last-mile logistics both easier and more challenging at the same time. Erratic traffic patterns, for example, can compromise a supply chain’s ability to deliver the item before they spoil. Weather alone can be a huge culprit in late shipments. Hot weather can be detrimental to temperature-sensitive goods, such as frozen meats or chilled dairy.

Currently, most last-mile food deliveries are being delivered by mainstream parcel delivery companies and are processed through non-temperature-
controlled trailers and sortation depots. Many of the boxes which contain food for customers are damaged, leaking, soiled, or lay around on the dirty floor before ending up in the back of an unclean van and then being sent out for delivery. Not only its very unpleasant, but it also creates the perfect storm for cross-contamination which could make someone incredibly sick, or even worse.

Donna and I quickly realised that there’s a massive gap in the market where just one solution for food and beverage companies relies strictly on
mainstream parcel delivery businesses, whereas food parcels are just another parcel. Currently parcel companies takes anywhere from 20-24 hours to food parcels that contain perishable items to reach the customer’s kitchen, which in our eyes way too long especially if it’s not been collected and delivered inside a temperature controlled vehicle.

At frresh , we make sure all our parcels that contain food items or beverages are collected inside a temperature-controlled vehicle and are sorted at a clean warehouse, before finally being delivered in a temperature-controlled van. All our vehicles are regularly cleaned and sanitised both inside and out to ensure the highest level of service, safety, and quality, that we can offer.
